Many years ago Karen taught my daughter to ride and she is now a confident horse rider(better than her mother)has her own horse is a pony club member and competes regularly. having no facilities at home we hire an aren at the paddocks for schooling. After years of being a happy hacker and a 9 month absence from riding completely i am having lessons with Karen to hone my riding skills, renew confidence and am thoroughly enjoying it. Karen has made it very easy and i look forward to returning to jumping and may get brave enough to ride daughters whizzy horse.

I went to Karen's Halloween pony day and loved every minute of it.

We groomed the ponies, cleaned their tack and the best bit was riding them.

Unfortunately our team called 'Wicked Witches' came in the 3rd place but at least I won my first ever rosette!

Roma was on our team and helped us on the day!!!

I'm definitely looking forward to the next pony day

Working on the beautiful schoolmasters at the paddocks has really helped me excell with my riding, i have gained so many new skills since i started riding at the paddocks 2 years ago, skills that i wouldnt of been able to fulfill at my old riding stables. I have also entered an interdressage competition, and with the support from Claire and Karen I managed to gain first place for the juniors and second overall. Aswell as dressage i have also gained confidence in jumping since a fall i had years ago! Pony days were always a good chance to meet new people with the same interests as myself, and to work with the cute ponies at the yard. I also spent a few mornings helping at the stables, its nice to be around the adorable ponies and the nice warming atmosphere is so welcoming! I have made so many new friends, and worked with some really excellent horses, aswell as regaining my confidence.

I absolutely love riding at the Paddocks. Karen and Claire always make our lessons enjoyable and exciting. I always look forwards to my next riding lesson because they are so fun.The ponies are really sweet and warm hearted. They’d never purposely hurt anyone, thanks to the hard work put in by Karen and Claire. I love pony days. We get to spend a whole day at the stables looking after the ponies and riding them. It’s really fun!

A huge thanks to Karen and Claire for giving me a new lease of life! After falling off my own pony many times I thought my riding was over, but after a few months at The Paddocks on their fantastic horses, I am slowly regaining my confidence and am even attempting to ride my own again.
Everyone is very friendly, there is a great atmosphere when you enter the yard, and the horses give you a little whinny.

London 2012
Team GBR Horse Head logo

2012 is an exciting year for me as I train a rider, Emma Sheardown, who, as a member of World Class Para Equestrian Squad, is aiming for selection for the Paralympic Games at Greenwich. London. This means that the riding school is taking a back seat whilst I focus my time and efforts to training Emma and her horse, Purdy’s Dream. There will be limited riding spaces available this year so please don’t be too disappointed if I can’t fit you in, kind regards, Karen
